2008 Kawasaki Versys 650

The Versys was introduced last year to the European and Canadian markets, and a company spokesman told us that U.S. enthusiasts were so relentless Kawasaki finally broke down and brought it here. So now that we have it, what do we call it? Is it a sportbike? Is it an adventure tourer? Perhaps it’s a practical commuter? Kawasaki appears to be unsure as well, since it categorizes the Versys as a “Jack of all trades.” It finally came up with the Versys name by combining parts of the words “versatility” and “system.”

2008 Kawasaki Concours 14 ABS

Twenty-one years since its introduction in 1986, Kawasaki has finally seen fit to reinvent the venerable Concours. Tips for safer ridin’

December 12th, 2006 · No Comments

With a little research I came across an article from The Motorcyclist Magazine, and they published, in my opinion, a great article that includes tips for safer riding. To be exact they include a list of over 50 tips for safer driving, they write - “The best bike in the world is scrap—or soon will be—unless you learn how to use it. The most powerful piece of high-performance hardware is between your ears. To help you program it with the right information, we’ve assembled 50 potentially lifesaving bits of street savvy. Some you’ll know, some you won’t. All are worth remembering, because when it comes to riding motorcycles on the street, the people over at the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (www.msf-usa.org) have the right idea with their tagline: The more you know, the better it gets.”

December 12th, 2006 · 3 Comments

kawasaki bike ninjaRider Magazine rides the new Kawasaki Ninja 650R and they conclude - “Our test bike was trouble-free, nicely finished and did everything that was asked of it with aplomb. There’s enough power and handling ability to keep most riders enthused, yet it’s light and easy enough for most newbies to handle with confidence. All in all, Kawi’s new Ninja 650R is a practical choice for beginners or re-entry riders, commuters, or experienced veterans who want a responsive, fun-to-ride midsize street machine that’s inexpensive to buy and operate.”

2006 Yamaha Midnight Warrior® Motorcycle

December 7th, 2006 · No Comments

Image and video hosting by TinyPicRider Report posts their review of the Yamaha Midnight Warrior and writes the following - “For the last several years, some of the major manufacturers have been offering what have come to be called “power cruisers.” They’re variations on cruisers, often with V-twin engines and high styling, but with a higher level of power and performance, better brakes and suspension, and often with enhanced cornering clearance for those who used to scrape pegs and still would like to scrape a little floorboard. In other words, they’re more functional versions of cruisers, bikes that start out where many cruiser owners end up after spending months and thousands of additional dollars working on their bikes.  Keep reading →

Click to CloseArt Friedman, from Motorcyclecruiser.com, writes about the new sportster Harley Davidson may have on the market soon.

At the Intermot Show in Cologne, Germany, Harley-Davidson displayed this prototype XR1200 variation of the Sportster 1200 motorcycle. Styled like the XR750 dirttrack racer, the XR display bike features high-performance Showa suspension and Nissin brakes. In short, it’s intended to be the Sportster that emphasizes sport. The bike was showed to test the reaction of show attendees, and if it sees a positive reaction, Harley says the motorcycle will go into production, probably within the year.   Read more….
